How do you make a pulsar? Well you can start by imploding the core of a massive star—say in a supernova explosion. In a fraction of a second you can squeeze the core 10,000 times smaller until atomic structure is destroyed—electrons and protons are squeezed together by the immense pressure, becoming chargeless neutrons. Thus, astronomers call the result a "Neutron Star."
Matter falling in is heated to extreme temperatures, ionized, and ejected along bipolar jets.
